The machine operator ambassador performs multiple processes using a variety of equipment in a manufacturing setting, dependent upon the department processes. Produces a high-quality product delivered in a timely manner to satisfy customers. Solves problems with the assistance of other team members and seeks continuous improvement. Completes all work with a high regard for the safety of others and oneself. Learns via cross-training in other departments. Ambassadors in this position will be expected to develop and display knowledge, skills, and willingness to learn and perform variety of manufacturing tasks, flex to work needs, produce sustained quality and timely results, maintain ongoing positive and collaborative behaviors, and reliably work all scheduled hours. Needs to be flexible to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift as needed.


Here’s what you will do:

  • Performs multiple activities using various processes and equipment, routinely or when called upon, according to department needs.
  • Completes required paperwork correctly to ensure record accuracy.
  • Calculates and derives dimensional information from all types of dimensional drawings.
  • Consistently performs SPC/quality checks by utilizing measurement tools and devices.
  • Sets up, loads, and operates manufacturing equipment.
  • Consistently performs to Standard Work Instructions at each process and request changes when needed.
  • Reads and understands drawings to produce parts to quality expectations.
  • Knows and practices quality requirements according to specified quality criteria.
  • Rotates through the department workstations based on business need.
  • Employs flexibility to meet team, department, and plant goals.
  • Knows and practices corporate, plant, and department safety guidelines.
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities within current departments or other departments.
  • Commits to meeting overtime requirements.
  • Maintains clean, safe working environment according to 5s and department safety guidelines.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.


Here’s what you need to have:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent military experience.
  • Experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Competent in basic math skills such as adding and subtracting. Additional math skills may be needed depending on department processes such as GDT (Geometric Dimensional Tolerances).
  • Ability to access and use information system databases.
  • 1-2 weeks training time required for most tasks.
  • Good verbal communication skills.
  • Good vision and color perception essential.
  • Ability to read and understand job aids and other instructional material printed in English preferred.
  • Ability to lift/move product weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for 8 or more hours a shift.
  • Ability to work within team environment required.
  • Willing to be flexible with work assignments and possible hours as business needs require. Must be able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift as needed.
