The logistics lead is responsible for overseeing the operations of the logistics department and the staff members that work within that department. The Logistics Lead must ensure that all freight is routed and processed per both customer and CR expectations. This is a highly cross-functional position and requires a high degree of skill in communication and coordination between internal and external teams. Attention to detail is paramount. This position is also responsible for the timely and accurate disposition of materials upon receipt.



  • Meet all outbound scheduling and handling requirements. Recommend to Production Manager(s) modifications to work schedule as required to meet deadlines.
  • Responsible to support the drivers and shipping material handlers and hi-lo drivers; at times, may be required to perform material handling duties.
  • Accomplish staff results by conducting performance evaluations, training/coaching, tracking attendance and administering company policy.
  • Evaluate and choose load size and transport, and coordinate from point of origin to final destination. Keeping a keen eye on freight cost and Load size is critical.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the storage and distribution of raw materials upon receipt.
  • Liaise with compliance department to ensure meeting local, federal and international regulations.
  • Oversee financial transactions related to logistics.
  • Facilitate cost effective transportation of materials and equipment between each CR manufacturing center.
  • Communicate company goals and policies with production teams while providing a safe/ comfortable working environment
  • Ensure all safety policies are followed and report any safety issues to the leadership team.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Daily huddles with lead staff and production personnel to ensure outlining daily/weekly expectations. Support a culture of continuous improvement where new ideas are part of everyday life.
  • Participate on the safety committee. Serve as a leader in implementing world-class safety practices.
  • Contributes to team effort by participating in cross-functional continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Encourage a fun, creative and positive work environment.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associates Degree in related field preferred or 3 years of related experience.
  • A working knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations
  • Basic computer skills required (Word, Excel and Outlook)


Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Fast paced environment and work with a sense of urgency.
  • Must be able to endure 8 plus hours on your feet.
  • Lift 50 pounds at times.
