We are looking for a dynamic, outgoing individual to join Comfort Research as a Sales Account Specialist. Here’s what you’ll do:

The Product Designer works with the design team to research the market, ideate new, innovative products, create detailed, accurate specification sheets on both new and old products, and effectively communicate product instructions to business partners overseas. In addition, the Product Designer must pay great attention to detail to check prototype samples for accuracy and construction using spec sheets and design standards. The Product Designer’s job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals.

A few Specifics:

  • Ideate and design applicable product concepts given by the team.
  • Create and maintain product spec sheets.
  • Create product line drawings from multiple perspectives, transparent / multi-layer views.
  • Product Bill of materials (examples: fabric specs, zipper specs, stitching specs, branding tag placement and compliance label placements, and more).
  • Create product assembly bulletins.
  • Create product drawings, line drawings from multiple perspectives, transparent / multi-layer views.
  • Supervise prototype construction projects.
  • Audit prototype samples; create corrective action documents for revisions when needed.
  • Photograph prototypes in our in-house studio.
  • Organize and back up Specification Documents using existing company format.
  • Work with the Product Development team performing various tasks needed to facilitate the advancement of all projects.
  • Collaborate with our overseas product development team and partners.

Here’s what we need you to have:

  • Creative with an eye for shape and color.
  • Basic understanding of different materials and production methods.
  • Ability to understand what customers look for in a product.
  • Product Design/Industrial Design skills and experience is a plus.
  • Experience creating drawings, computer designs to express creative ideas. 3-D skills a plus.
  • Extremely well versed in Adobe CC, most importantly, in Adobe Illustrator. (3+ years’ experience preferred.)
  • Highly organized and able to manage files effectively.
  • Ability to work out costings and budgets.
  • Ability to explain ideas to people with varying levels of technical knowledge.
  • Strong listening and questioning skills for discussing design briefs and understanding feedback from colleagues.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise written presentations.
  • Strong attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to work within deadlines and budgets.
  • Team player.
