We're proud to call west Michigan our home town

Born and raised in West Michigan, Comfort Research is located in the south west corner of Grand Rapids, MI. A diverse and growing community, here are a few fun facts about our home town.

  • Grand Rapids, was originally known as the “Furniture Capital” of the nation. It’s known today as the Furniture Capital of the Office Furniture Industry.
  • It’s Michigan’s second largest city with a metro population of 1,005,648
  • in 2004 Grand Rapids was named as one of America’s most livable communities by livability.com and in 2012, one of the best cities to raise a family by Forbes magazine.
  • With 15 craft breweries in the area, we’ve been named “Beer City USA” in 2012-2014. HopCat was voted #1 brewpub in the nation, and Founders Brewing Co. has been named 3rd best brewery in the world!
  • In 1945 Grand Rapids was the first city in the U.S. to add fluoride to its drinking water and was also the first city to use hydro-electric power.

Cowboy hats and beans in our boots… our second location is second to none

We opened our second manufacturing facility in 2013 in one of the friendliest places in TN.

  • Second largest manufacturing community in Tennessee
  • The Goats, Music and More Festival held the second weekend of October aims to honor goats, particularly Marshall County’s famous native “Fainting” goat and the Boer goat.
  • As one of the last remaining drive-in theatres in the country, the Hi Way 50 Drive In Theatre has been remodeled and this ’50s style form of entertainment is open from April to October and shows current cinema releases.

Tremonton, UT

Serving the west coast faster than ever before… we love our third location

Continuing to grow, we opened our third manufacturing facility in 2017!

  • The inventor of the television, Philo T. Farnsworth, is from Utah. We can thank him for his contributions to our current Netflix addictions.
  • Behind Nevada, Utah is the second driest state in the United States. Residents are used to the dry air, but if visiting Utah, make sure to stock up on lotion and lip balm!
  • With the highest literacy rate in the nation, Utah must be full of bookworms. Certainly, there’s no denying the joy of sitting by the fire in the middle of the Utah mountains with a good book.

Tarboro, NC

Don't stop us now. We've opened our 4th manufacturing facility

With the expansion of our Pool product line to Foam Noodles and Aquaria™ Aqua Cell Foam™ floats, we added another facility in Tarboro, NC in 2022!

  • Our Tarboro facility contains over 47 presses, many batch ovens, and a Mix Room, bringing you our amazing Aqua Cell Foam™ loungers and extruded foam noodles!
  • In its early days, the area was widely known as “Tawboro,” a name attributed to “Taw,” which translated as “river of health” by the Tuscarora Tribe.
  • President George Washington slept in Tarboro during a Southern tour in 1791. He said the town offered “the best salute you could have from a single cannon.”
